Relationships
"We keep fighting about the same things over and over."
"My partner and I are living like roommates."
"I don't know what to do about my relationship."

Take it from me: relationships are hard work. Our culture teaches us that once we find a person that we (hopefully) love, the hard part is done and it's all butterflies and rainbows from there.
Then when couples find themselves getting into daily fights about unloading the dishwasher, or their conflicting work schedules, or who left their underwear in the bathroom again, they don't understand why every other couple they know seems to have it together while they are locked in endless arguments, hurt feelings, and questioning if they are with the wrong person.
It's never just about the dishwasher or the work schedule though. It's about underlying patterns of interactions and the emotions, past experiences, and narratives that fuel them. |
Every couple needs therapy at one point or another, because no one is immune to the challenges that come with couple relationships. And as every couples therapist will tell you, getting help sooner rather than later gives you the greatest chance for success and change.
Therapy can help you make sense of the patterns that play out between you, the role that culture plays in shaping your struggles, and find ways to reconnect with your partner.
